Bariatric Center of Excellence at Saint Francis

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center has been approved by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the Surgical Review Corporation as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence.

This voluntary designation is bestowed upon bariatric surgery centers meeting rigorous criteria, including the availability of resources to perform safe bariatric surgical procedures and demonstrated short- and long-term results after bariatric surgery.

Founded in 1983, the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery is the largest professional society for obesity and related diseases. Its purpose is to advance the art and science of bariatric surgery through the interchange of ideas and information as well as the promotion of outcome studies and quality assurance.

What We Do: Continuum of Care

Bariatric surgery benefits individuals struggling with morbid obesity through surgical procedures. These procedures have been proven to be effective in promoting weight reduction and reducing premature mortality.

Saint Francis provides a comprehensive array of services through nutritional and psychological counseling, diagnosis, and treatment of co-morbid conditions and surgical treatment for morbid obesity.
