ADA Recognition

Saint Francis’ Diabetes Care Center was established in 1982 and is Connecticut’s oldest comprehensive diabetes outpatient service.

In 1989, the center was the first in Connecticut to receive the Recognition Certification for a Quality Diabetes Education Program from the American Diabetes Association and has maintained this honor since that time. This recognition assures patients that the program meets the ADA’s teaching standards, and that they will receive information on diabetes that is based on the most recent scientific research provided by experienced Certified Diabetes Educators (CDE see Glossary).
