2009 Beneficiary: The Stroke Rehabilitation Program at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital

The 2009 Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital Golf Classic was held on Monday, May 18 at Blue Fox Run Golf Course, in Avon. This year’s event brought in a record number of participants and proceeds to help Mount Sinai support the Stroke Rehabilitation Program, specifically the special technology that will provide invaluable benefit to our stroke patient population. We plan to purchase the NESS L300, an advanced functional electrical simulation system that assists individuals who have weakness or paralysis of their lower legs. The system sends low-level electrical impulses to specific nerves, allowing the person using it to have a more normal walking pattern. The NESS L300 is also very appropriate to use with individuals who have MS, a spinal cord injury or a brain injury. We would like to thank all of our sponsors and friends for their continued support of Saint Francis and making this event possible.
