“Heart disease is the biggest health threat that women will face: It is the number one killer of women in the United States. The good news is that women’s heart disease is preventable,” said Dr. Anita Kelsey, Director of the Women’s Heart Program at the Hoffman Heart and Vascular Institute. “There are steps women can take early on to reduce the risk through assessment, exercise and nutrition,” Kelsey added.
The Women’s Heart Program is designed to help women take a proactive approach to heart disease through education and increased awareness and is free to all participants.
